We hold 3 rallies a year — March (Mesa, AZ), June and August (both in Alberta). We also hold 4 lunches in Alberta on the second Wednesday of May, July, September and October.

JUNE RALLY 2012

The dates in an earlier issue of Escapees magazine are wrong — please note the correct dates given here.

DATES: Monday, June 11 – Friday, June 15, 2012.  You are welcome to arrive on Sunday as the site has been booked from Sunday afternoon to noon Friday. Please do not arrive until 1 pm on Sunday to allow the hosts time to set up. Thanks!  Note: The rally officially starts Monday afternoon and ends Friday noon.

PLACE: Bluffton Community Hall, Bluffton, AB.

DIRECTIONS: From Rimbey, Alberta, go north on Highway # 20 approximately 12 km/7.2 mi, turn right off Highway #20 and follow signs to Hall (about 1 km/0.6 mi). For a map click here.

CAMPING FEE: $10 per night.

RALLY FEE: $10 per person.

HOSTS: Elaine & Gord Mackenzie, Terri Mackenzie,  Carol Davis, and Henry & Eva Retzlaff.

REGISTRATION: Please register with Carol Davis by June 1. (Members please use your membership list for her contact information. Others please use the form at the bottom.)

ACTIVITIES: On the schedule is a visit to the Paskapoo Park and International Truck Museum in Rimbey, a visit to Rimbey’s senior home for some singing, and a presentation by a guest RV insurance specialist. Host supper (Monday), Potluck (Wednesday) Hearty Hors D’oeurves on Thursday and Hitchup Breakfast on Friday. There’s a big change with the Hitchup Breakfast this year — a one-time only change: the women will prepare breakfast in honour of the men and Father’s Day. Other meals on your own.

OTHER: Weather permitting, there is a 9 hole golf course at a reasonable price, horseshoes, bocci ball, and of course the World Series of bean bag baseball. Close by is a unique antique store (SISTERS),  and a very popular Ladies Dress Store that has some awesome styles.  (Ladies bring some money.) There is water on site and washrooms.

JULY LUNCH 2012

DATE & TIME: Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Meet & visit at 11:30 am, eat at 12:30.

PLACE: The Landing, Gleniffer Lake Golf & Country Club, Gleniffer Lake Resort, AB

From the East: From Hwy 2 go west on Hwy 54. After about 15 km/9 mi, watch for blue and white signs for Gleniffer Lake Golf and Country Club. Follow these signs (you will make a number of turns) to the main gate. Proceed to the controlled entry and I (or someone) will be there to let you in. If I’m not there, tell whoever is that you’re with the Escapees RV Club.

From the West: Take Hwy 54 to Spruce View. Turn right at the main intersection (flashing yellow light). Go south to the hamlet of Dickson to the 4-way stop. Go left on the next road south — also a sign there for Gleniffer Lake Resort.

AUGUST RALLY 2012

DATES: Monday, August 13 – Friday, August 17, 2012.  The site has been booked from noon Monday to noon Friday. Please do not arrive until 1 pm on Monday to allow the hosts time to set up. Thanks!

PLACE: Torrington Hall, Torrington, AB. 

DIRECTIONS: From Highway 2 (Queen Elizabeth II HIghway), go east on Hwy 27 for  32 km/20 miles. (NOTE: The rally is at the Torrington HALL, not the Torrington Campground. Watch for the SKP signs.) For a map click here.

RALLY FEE: $10 per person.
