Six of us left Ajo for the rally yesterday — Ann & Mel, Gloria & Dave and Gerry & I. It was a long day — about 2 and a quarter hours on the road. Oh, yeah, about an hour of that was over coffee at Gila Bend 🙂
We all met up in the parking lot of the Ak Chin Harrah’s Resort in Maricopa where we spent the night boondocking on the pavement. The afternoon we went our separate ways for shopping, visiting and other chores. That night we decided to take in the buffet at the Resort. Bad decision. We stood in line for about an hour-and-a-half, much of it in a draft. Eventually we reached the front of the line and finally got to eat. At last!
This morning Gerry and I packed up and headed to Usery to help the hosts set up for the rally. Our four travelling companions will arrive here tomorrow along with most of the other rally goers. Looks like it’s gonna be a warm week!
